The right paper: strength and fiber structure
To print braille special paper is needed that complies with specific standards. The thickness of the paper is crucial. It must me strong enough to keep a good grip on the braille dots. If the paper is too thin there is the risk that the braille dots will be damaged or disappear. A good fiber structure is also essential to keep the shape of the braille dots intact and that the braille dots stay easy to read.

Braille printers: efficient and precise
If the document only has to be produced in braille we us braille printers. The specialized printers print the braille dots in the paper with the help of fine pins. This process makes it possible to print complete books or documents in the right order all in once. After this only the finishing is needed.
Braille and printed text/images: a precise alignment
When it comes to a combination of braille and printed text or images we use a braille template. This template makes it possible that the braille is printed precisely on the right spot without overlapping the printed elements. The braille template consists of two platens, a die and a stamp, that fit precisely together.

After the braille template is made, the paper with the printed text and images is placed between the two platens through the arm of the printing press. In this way the braille dots are pressed into the paper.
