The CBB wants to give the blind and visually impaired the possibility to take in information. That’s why for example we translate letters into braille. But we do a lot more. Because when you are blind you don’t see images. That is why we make pictures tangible. How do we do this?
Step 1: Adapting the image
Most of the time an existing image isn’t ready to be made tangible. The following picture still needs some changes.

A picture that is to be made tangible should not have any dept. There is depth because in the picture the person in the middle is standing behind the other persons. Another thing that is important is that the image does not communicate too much. Our graphic designers know how to take the main message out of a picture and make a new picture. The main message in this picture is the handshake between the boy and the trainer.

Step 2: Making the picture tangible
The next step is that the renewed image is made tangible. Different parts of the picture will be made in difference of height so that the message of the picture is understood well. This is the picture at the end of the process. The picture is tangible!
